This Weekend : Driving Italian Style!

To All,
This weekend consisted of a lot of shopping for 'house things' (by this I mean Divano-Sofa, Comodino-Bed side table, Cassettiera-Chest of Draws ect.).
Also a driving lesson! . . thats right people I have officially driving on the right-hand side of the road and it was, let me tell you, terrifying! It felt like that dream that you have, when you are driving on the Highway in the wrong direction but in this reality you keep going! (above is the pic. of the car)

Driving Summary . . .

Pedestrians Killed: 0
Cyclists Killed: 0
Damage to Boyfriends Company Car: 0 (at least not that is obvious without opening the doors...just joking)
Cars side swipped: 0
Sweaty armpits at the end: 4
Cyclists almost killed: 1
Cars almost side swipped (Im talking of less than 10cm): 5 . . . or maybe 7 . . . what! Its hard to judge the right-hand side of the car when you are now sitting on the left!
Boyfriend who feared for his life: 1
Time and date of next lesson: . . .what are you kidding! you really think that I will be permitted behind the wheel of a moving vehicle again after that!

Oh and P.S. just to make life more difficult as well as putting the gears on the opposite side they also put the blinker and windscreen wipers on the opposite side, . . needless to say that the windows are very clean and no one knew in which direction I wanted to go.

I swear its me who drives normally and all the rest of Italy that drives crazy!!!

Hello All,

Here are some of the photos from greece (post the rest tomorrow). Things are pretty calm here at the moment. Last weekend we painted part of the house which took a surprisingly long! Also bought a painting esle whilst at the shop getting the paint so I started painting again which Im enjoying. Also last weekend we went out for pizza with friends.
This week some people are back to work again so Turin is begining to fill up again (a strange thing occures in the holidays, -everyone leaves the cities and everything closes down for all of August. Yes, really everything! The banks the post office, theres only one supermarket and one butcher open in all of Turin! ATM's run out of money, if you are sick you have to hut for a doctor like he's the holy grail. But the begining of September the all reopen and we can all start living again!
Yesterday I did all the shopping and felt like a real little italian housewife, I had to go to the butcher and ask for all the meat and ham that I wanted and then went off to the market (which is just behind Dani's house) and push my way through sleezy glares (the reputation of a sleezy italian does have solid grounding in SOME italian males) to buy all the fruit.
Currently cooking up a plan for this weekends entertainment program!
Love to all
Erin
