CARNEVALE

Well here in Italy like in Brazil, Spring means 'Carnevale' and to celebrate we didn't have masks or anything just a dinner with these yummy biscuites called 'Bugie' yummy yum. It's a fried sweet dough with icing sugar.




No so good for the waist line but oh so very very nice for the tounge! (left, me caught eating a Bugia!)
But in the spirit of dressing up for Carnevale we are having a belated Murder Mistery Dinner Party, the delay is due to the need to find 14 scripts and then translate these 14 scripts from English into Italian!

SPRING!!

Ah Spring/Primavera is finally here and I would like to personally give it a warm, red carpet welcome!!!!















There has been parties where we don't have to rug up like the Michelin man and an afternoon strole around in the parks and main fountains has once again been enjoyable.














ohhh how wonderful! Soon will be my favorite season of the year - Gelati Season!

SAN VALENTINO

Valentines Day Dinner!
After a long but normal 12 hr work day I came home to find a lovely romantic shrimp dinner prepared for yours truely! ohhh *sigh* what a boyfriend!
Entree - Shrimp mayonese cocktail










Main - Polenta with rocket and shimp.











Dessert - well . . . it was so Yummy that I ate it before I got to take a picture. he he but it was a waffle with rasberry hunny and ice cream. Who hungry now, eh?











HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

oh and PS. my gift was 2 tickets for a weekend in Paris. And, yes, I know I'm spoilt~!

NYE PARTY!

This year was New Year's Eve Austrian Style!












Yep that's right we ate fat sausages on sticks and sour crout! yuck! All 10 of us bundled in the car(s) for a 12 hr drive and went off to Vienna to have NYE with our friend who is working in Austria. It was very cold but still no sighting of snow, can you believe it!

Our car buddies were Stefano and Elena (below) with which we made record time to and fro from Vienna 11hrs 33 mins one way! . . obviously NOT speeding mum!









There were lots of sights to see. There was this famous royal palace -as every good European town has, I have grown to learn. But really it was home to the Austrian Hugarian Empire.







A famous cake shop ( the Sacher Torte cake was invented here (left))











and when all the days touring got too much and you little toes were frozen through there was always time for a quick recharge of Austria's favourite hot spiced wine!

A WHITE CHRISTMAS

Although it wasn't white like last year, just cold!!
In the typically over exaggerated Italian way we ate ourselves silly then the next day did it all over again with friends!
We have Xmas lunch with Dani's family and then the next day we had all our friends bring over the leftovers from all their different families and we had a feast on boxing day!








Oh and I made very yummy and very fattening Gingerbread men, which my italian friends had only ever seen on American TV so they were all amazed!










We also had a little tree, that had quite a few presents for just 2 people!!

BEFORE XMAS CATCH UP

Wow guys so much to catch up on! I will start back at before Xmas!!

SALONE DI GIUSTO

Here are some photo's of me with a lot of cheese at the Salone di Giusto (the International Food Fair), it was very very yummy! Oh and there's also a pig! lots of wine, cheese and bread tasting.

SUSHI FIX

One thing that I'm missing oh oh so much is asian food! I didn't realise how much I asian food I ate until now I can't eat it anymore! well not cant but its just so difficult to find good quality asian food. So I found a huge supermarket (a half hrs car ride away) that sells seaweed sheets, and this was the result. . . .a sushi frenzy!!! All made by yours truely :)













FONDU MEAT DINNER!

I can honestly say that I didn't know that Fondu with meat existed, well its actually with hot oil instead of cheese so it's a type of fried small pieces of meat that they do in a Fondu thingy, then they put mayonese on it - I know what your thinking - how they heck to Italians stay skinny eating things like fried meat with mayonese - I'm sorry but despite my best 007 investigations, phone in my shoe tricks, I'm still yet to discover!

Hi All!!!!

Man its been sooo soooo long from the last up date! mainly because when Im working 12hr days it doesnt really leave much time for doing much after work and on the weekends Im horse riding or skiing or there's always good old faithful sleeping!!

Ok, in the effort of catching very one up I will include the photo's from the work Christmas party, wow that really was a long time ago! Lets just say in true 'Madam' style I kept myself nice and drove my self home with no problems unlike one of my collegues that wokup in hospital and didnt know where he was the next morning there car was somewhat 'different' lets just say it took on a new 'sleaker narrower' look! ha ha

CanI dont have time to write who everyone is but in a sum up there is my big boss with two other ladies that work in the office, there is me with his secretary and the other intern and another girl from the office and the photo of the two guys standing on the table is my ohter boss to the right and they were, after several coctails, deciding who had the best ab's.

Photo's of Valentines Day, New Years ond other are still to come I promise!

Overalls things have been quite crazy, I received 3 job offers which was good except they all come at once and it was very hard to choose at the end I chose KPMG who also offered to pay me to do a Master in Business Processes. There are some visa issues to sort out but all in all i start the Master on March 1st. So will up date you all as soon as possible.
